SAY NO TO SUGAR

SUGAR? No thanks, I am sweet enough!!

The dream of every individual is to have a beautiful, glowing clear acne-free skin with no blemishes and have a healthy body inside out.  A simple Mantra to have this is to avoid Refined Sugar and refined carbs and opt for complex carbohydrates.

Sugar is a beauty killer

Excess intake of sugar increases the level of stress hormone (CORTISOL).

When your body starts producing excess cortisol, it loses its ability to retain water.

This is what leads to dehydrated skin where your skin lacks moisture in the absence of which your skin starts to turn flaky. Worse, dry skin; which often leads to breakouts. So in simple terms that delicious sugary dessert not only adds to your waistline but also years to your skin(Premature aging)  Consuming a lot of processed foods, including high-sugar products such as cakes and sugary drinks, cold drinks have been associated with a higher risk of depression.

Does refined sugar cause pimples ???

Well, the answer is Yes!!  But, how does sugar cause pimples? Studies have proven that sugary foods cause acne. When you consume sugar, your body produces insulin which tries to clear the sugar from your blood. A Spike in the level of insulin stimulates your hormones and that causes acne. That’s why teens also have pimples galore.

Why refined sugar is bad?

According to research, refined sugar provides “Empty calories”  because the refining process removes all the vitamins and minerals. It has no nutritional values and causes an increase in blood sugar levels that can leave you feeling moody and irritable. Refined sugars produce the disease-causing agents in the body and mind, simultaneously weakening the immune system.

Sugar makes you fat?

Complex carbohydrates such as whole grain and pulses are good for us. simple carbohydrate such as refined sugar is not. All forms of sugar weather white sugar, syrups, brown sugar cause our blood sugar level to increase rapidly. If this instant supply of energy is not used the body stores it and converted into fat.

Reducing your sugar intake will do just the opposite!

if you seriously look at that sugar that you’re eating, reduce it, you can improve your complexion no matter what’s going on. You can strengthen the elastin and collagen(the two protein elements that contribute to keeping our skin beautiful)  and REDUCE inflammation in your skin.

You do not need to remove all the sugar, simply switch to healthy sugar alternatives ….. Which are they??? Find out the end of this mystery in my next article.

Till then hasta la vista folks.
